Submit Winter-Themed Shaders for the Airship and Speeder

Shaders are color variations for the Airship and Speeder. You can see them on the front page under Shaders in the Collectibles section. Shaders come in either two to three color shades with three color shades being more rare. For example, Samurai Blue is a Rare Black and Blue shader. Shader coloration and how it colorizes that airship and/or speeder is dependent on the shader. Now, these shaders are for generic airships and speeders and not specific ones such as the aforementioned Santa Claus Sleigh.

The following Airships and Speeders can have shades applied to them:
  • Airship
    • N Airship (a generic airship meant for typical star travel)
    • Old Timer (a ship put together with scrap metal and elbow grease)
    • Star Treader (a sleek, expensive galactic travel vehicle. Complete with cup holders.)
    • Heavy Transport (a transport ship meant to carry more than one passenger plus more. But only carries one.)
    • Flying Saucer (we come in peace, take me to your leader.)
    • Space Boomerang (this high tech spaceship cuts through the cosmos like a hot knife through butter)
    • Orbital Drone (squeeze into this odd ship. The thing that sets this apart from an unmanned drone is that it is manned.)
  • Speeder
    • N Speeder (a generic speeder meant for long-distance travel)
    • Hover Bike (a more bicycle-looking vehicle that hovers!)
    • Cross Country (a heavy-duty speeder with tons of storage for things to bring on a long travel.)
    • Patrol Bike (stop! freeze! Scoot around on a patrol bike meant for heroes.)
    • Wasteland Racer (channel your inner Mad Max with a speeder that is meant for the apocalypse.)
    • Timeless Machine (I daresay, this contraption is a thing of the future! The brass! The steam! It's so...so...steampunkish!)
    • Light Cycle (a sleek bicycle that looks futuristic and radiates the light of the Shade that is applied to it.)
Submit Currency that Can be Used to Purchase Items

By participating in online battles, Spirit Events, and Tournaments, you have access to a particular new currency that is ONLY used for this festival. While you can purchase these items featured in this festival through normal means, using this new currency greatly reduces the amount each item costs by 25-75%. This is only one item and should reflect the winter theme. We did not include this in the previous festival so I grandfathered into it. The item was "acorns". Collecting "Golden Acorns" allowed players to purchase items.

Submit an Assist Trophy who uses Ice Attacks
We are adding an Assist Trophy that utilizes ice for attacks. This Assist Trophy does cost resources to purchase and is time-exclusive after the event but will be made available later down the road in the next couple of updates. The Assist Trophy can be from a series currently in Smash or not from a series currently in Smash. Please include:

  • Image

When she leaves, she sends out Snowball and performs Blizzard, A large circle of frozen air appears around the middle of the stage and freezes any opponent trapped inside, Her leaving animation involves her entering Ice Block as well.

Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat)
Taking from his UMK3 design, Sub-Zero will walk towards the target with the highest damage and do one of the following attacks:
  • A double-jab followed with a roundhouse kick. Deals a total of 9%.
  • An uppercut, the Mortal Kombat Klassic move. This deals 13% damage and sends foes extremely high.
  • Ice Ball: Sub-Zero throws a large iceball the size of a half-charged Aura Sphere forwards. If the foe is hit, they will take 6% damage and be in a unique Frozen state that's more akin to a mid-air bury, leaving them open to attacks from either Sub-Zero or his summoner.
  • Ice Klone: If the foe has made an attack on Sub-Zero within the last 5 seconds, Sub-Zero will leap backwards and leave behind an ice clone of himself that will explode for 4% damage and use the same Frozen state as before.
  • Slide: If the foe is keeping their distance from Sub-Zero, he will perform a forward-advancing slide attack that deals 11% damage.
Eventually, a foe is above 100% and is hit by one of Sub-Zero's attacks they will become stunned and open to a powerful instant-kill move: the Fatality: Sub-Zero will grapple the foe by the neck before freezing the area he's grabbing. With a jolt of his arm, the foe explodes in a flash of light and Sub-Zero raises his arm in victory, some light twinkling on his fist. If Sub-Zero manages to land a Fatality, he will be desummoned prematurely.

As some added Easter Eggs...
  • If Sub-Zero manages to land the Uppercut as a counter-attack, there's a chance the voice clip of "TOASTY~!" will play in the background.
  • Foes that are hit by Sub-Zero will have drops of blue liquid splash from them, referencing the infamous "sweat" effects of the Super Nintendo version of Mortal Kombat.

Assist Trophy with Ice Attacks: Ashe (League of Legends)

images (3).jpeg

I can't explain her lore, because League of Legends lore is very complex

Ashe will be have her design from OG LoL,her attacks are just arrows who can makes the opponent freeze and she can run

Frost Shot: Ashe shoots with her ice arrows forward and backward,it does 6% of damage
Volley: Ashe jumps and shoots 8 ice arrows on just one shot,it does 7,2% of damage
Hawkshot: Ashe shoots a blue spirit of a bird, the spirit is remote-guided and does 14,2% of damage
Ranger's Focus: Ashe shoots a flurry of ice arrows forward or backward,it does 21,9% of damage

Fjorm is the Princess of Ice from Fire Emblem Heroes who joins forces with Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna in the second chapter of the game. She will use her signature lance, Leiptr, to stab and freeze opponents that come near her. She can also fire bursts of ice from a distance, referencing the weapons ability in Heroes to counterattack regardless of range.

Summons two characters - the skiier and the sasquatch - the sasquatch will chase after the skiier, and 1HKO any fighter in his path with a bite. The skiier creates a trail of snow that freezes fighters and makes them easy prey for the yeti. Both can be attacked, and have individual health bars, so you can leave with the slightly less dangerous situation of just a hungry yeti to deal with, or the much less dangerous situation of just a skiier's ice to deal with

When summoned, the Penguin will jump into the air before doing a Maximum Spider/Super Sonic/Volt Tackle attack around the screen as he dices back and forth. The only difference is that, unlike the aforementioned screen-covering dash attacks, it is slightly slower but it also creates an icy path before and after the Penguin which can freeze opponents to may touch the path after the Penguin passes. It is based on the Racing Penguin from Super Mario 64.

So we will have two more Festivals after the Festival of Ice. Once more, I decided to change the name back to Festival of Roses. This will be a Valentine's Day-related event. This is a rather small event. Following that, we will be having a Mii-oriented event which will change some things for our Mii Fighters. This is a rather large festival.

In August, we will be having a Summer Time Festival which will have a rather large in-game event which will make it about the same size as Festival of Ice in size and scope. Between our April Mii Festival and the summer festival, we will have one small to medium-sized one that is similar to our Festival of Feasts and Festival of Roses.

Our next job has a lot of stuff going into it but I want to make sure ALL OF US knows what we are submitting for so please read through it all. It took me a n hour to write so please do me the favor of reading through it.

Submit a small to mid-sized Festival Theme
This will occur in mid-June and will include a number of content similar to past festivals. To give you an idea of sizes:

Festival NameSizeMii CostumesStage VariationsOnline Tournament?Spirit Event?Hub ChangeNew Content like Assist Trophy?Global Event?AirshipSpeederPosesCostumesColors
FeastsMedium24YesYesYesNoNo11346
IceLarge48YesYesYesYesYes23457
RosesSmall11NoYesYesNoYes10222
Mii DayLargeTBA0YesYesYesYesYesTBATBATBATBATBA

TBA: I have decided on the numbers but I am avoiding revealing them until we get closer and it shows what may be included in this event

EDIT: Please note that while Mii Day is indeed about Miis, the partial focus is on sports.

So we are going to submit a festival theme to go between our very large Mii-related Festival and our somewhat smaller but still large Summer Festival. Ideally, it would make sense to include a small Festival to balance everything out.

Here are the rules:
  • The event will not have any new characters
  • If we have a new stage included, we can't include new stage variations.
  • Stage variations are between 1 to 4/5
  • We need to keep Mii Costumes within the 1 to 3 range.
  • We need to keep new character costumes 1 to 4.
  • We need to keep new character colors 1 to 5.
  • If we have a Global Event, it means a Spirit Event or Online Tournament is sacrificed
  • Currently Spirit Events and online Tournaments are 1 a piece for small to medium sized festivals
  • Hub Aesthetic Change is usually incorporated if permitted
  • If we have new content added like an Assist Trophy, this means a new stage can't be included as well as sacrifice in numbers regarding collectibles
  • Collectibles should be balanced based on the numbers in previous Festivals
  • The numbers you include WILL affect future festival numbers
You can submit a Festival based on a general concept like how we did for Fall, Holidays, Valentine's Day, Miis, and Summer. You can also base it on a current series represented in Smash. It would be a celebration of that series and we could focus on incorporating content from that series. In this context, we could incorporate new music packs but would need to sacrifice the numbers of another category elsewhere.

You can also include a crossover with a series not yet represented in Smash BUT this does not mean a character can be included. For example, let's say we had this in Infinite and we had a crossover event with Skyrim, then we could of not only gotten the stage but also a hub world based on Skyrim, mii costumes, online tournaments, spirits, music, etc etc. This meant we could truthfully incorporate content from that universe an integrate it into Smash in a way that we could never before. There may be a time when a crossover event brings in a new character but now is not the time.

I decided the theming of these events as a way to guide us to know how to craft Festivals. I feel the thread knows what to expect from Festivals and the general rhythm they have. I feel more at ease at allowing everyone to come up with a theme now.

When submitting a theme for our June Festival, please submit the following info. Please be as thorough as possible.

  • Name
  • Theme Description
  • Small or medium?
  • Why it should be included
  • What content will be included (please list each content the number of content we will submit)
    • Mii Costumes
    • Stage Variation
    • New Content (if any)
    • Online Tournament
    • Spirit Event
    • Hub Change
    • Global Hub Event
    • Airship
    • Speeder
    • Poses
    • Costumes
    • Colors
    • Shaders
    • Tags
Please note that I am the ultimate balancer and, while I do want to give you all free reign on how much content, I will have the final say. So let's say we submit and vote for a theme but it has like 200 stage variations and this gets voted in for WHATEVER reason, I will severely limit that number of a more manageable level.

Please also note we have to fill this content up so you are deciding what we are submitting for. So if you create a festival based on "toilet paper", we have to submit all things toilet paper. While that may sound random and LOL, it will be super tedious and boring to submit content for. Not to mention extremely questionable in the "in-game real-world". Can you imagine waiting from April to June for the next update only for a "Toilet Paper Festival"? You may LOL at it but I am willing to wager that a good portion of the fanbase won't.

Festival of Bloom

We had Fall and Winter Festivals and are planning a Summer Festival, so I figured it's only fair to have a Spring based one to complete the four seasons. Will be based around picnics, flowers, rainbows, and gardens, with Spring vibes everywhere. As this is a Spring event, a large focus will be on rebirth, as all the plants return to life after a long winter. June is a little late for Easter but we can include some of the elements (non religious of course) regardless like bunnies and eggs.

Will include:

2 Mii Costumes
4-6 Stage Variations
4 Poses
Smash HUD Aesthetic Change
1 Online Tournament
1 Spirit Event
5 Festival Colors
4 Festival Costumes
2 Airships
2 Speeders
3-7 Shaders

Tall Tails and Long Trails, aka Festival of Adventure
It's the beginning of summer, so everyone is starting their summer vacations. The Smash Bros cast has decided to hike to the nearby mountains and take in the natural beauty of the place. However, there are some reports of some... strange events taking place in these mountains, and rumors are swirling about strange things coming out of the nearby caverns.

The theme for this event is two-pronged; it's primarily themed around outdoor activities, most notably hiking and camping; however, like all mountain retreats, the camp houses a dark secret, perfect for the likes of Bigfoot and the Swamp Monster to come in and crash the party. Since this job acts like a"pre-festival" to the main summer event, I imagine that this would be a nice event to start things out before moving on to the summer beaches and such. I think this choice will be a good addition as it is more down to earth compared to other festivals, allowing it to be a nice breather before the main event, while not skimping out on the content.
  • Medium-sized
  • Will include:
    • 2-3 Mii Costumes
    • 2-3 Character Costumes
    • 2-3 Stage Variations
    • 1 Airship
    • 3 Speeders
    • 1 Online Tournament
    • 1 Spirit Event
    • Hub Change
    • 1 NEW "Smash Dungeons" Event
      • This is a new addition, and most of the content will take place here. The idea is simple: there will be a special version of Smash Dungeons going on that plays differently from the normal variations of Smash Dungeons. The primary way to get the currency in this event is to attend this mode and gain good scores. This would give a new change of pace from most events, and since its new, it can justify being the main focus on the event, therefore balancing the smaller size of the update. It also fits the theme of the festival I had, as that allows the player to be up close and personal with the mystique of nature and battle all sorts of strange monsters; its like an "adventure".

Festival Of Fire

A festival themed around Fire and Heat. Taking place in the night, The aesthetic would be a fusion of stereotypical nighttime festivals with Markets, Bonfires and the most apparent of all, fireworks. It would be fused with the aesthetics of a stereotypical Fire World or Volcano with lava, fire and brimstone all around.

Star Festival

The Star Festival is a short, small festival where players commemorate and celebrate the stars; both physically and figuratively. The entire Smash Hub is bathed in darkness as stars light up the night sky. Shooting stars are visible. There is not a day and night cycle like in the typical hub world.
  • 1 Mii Costume
  • 4 Stage Variations
  • Online Tournament
  • 1 Global Event
  • Hub Change
  • 2 Airships
  • 1 Speeders
  • 3 Shader
  • 6 Festival Colors (this is where more of the development time focuses on)
By the way, here are out Festival Colors for the Festival of Ice

That being said, we had two other options open so I filled those in...

  • No Hub Change

I Have other ideas, but i don't know how they works and they're scrapped

Zombie Festival (This festival could be Zombie Apocalypse-themed,but it's scrapped because it will be very gory)

Festival In The FUUUUUUTURE! (This festival could be Sci-Fi-themed,but it's scrapped because costumes don't have any potencial)

DIY Festival

Not DIY in the sense of "user submitted" and more in the sense of "amateur crafts" - paper costumes, wooden treehouses, recycled cans, scribbly artwork, or even the tools used to bring DIY stuff to life, you name it!

This would be small. Y means Yes and N means No. There's about 10 pieces of content here minimum, give or take. I went for a small amount due to how specific the concept is compared to something more abstract like stars or fire.

Mii Costumes - 1
Stage Variations - 1
Tournament - N
Spirit - N
Hub - Y
New Content - Y, item(s)
Global Event - Y (I assume this means it will be done in all regions?)
Speeders - 2
Airship - N
Costumes - 4
Colours - N

EDIT: Also, Robin Red turned out great! I was envisioning him as a little darker, but the smokier grey makes sense since he probably already has an alt based on Bomb.

Thank you everyone for your submissions! First off, here are the results of our voting for an Assist Trophy based on Ice! It was pretty one-sided!

Here is our currency for the Festival of Ice. Remember, this is used to purchase content at a lower cost during the time of the festival.

Name2 points1 PointTotal
Silver Snowflake1 (2)24
Chocolate Coins2 (4)26
Holiday Ornaments2 (4)15
Holiday Cookies3 (6)39

And now the Assist Trophy...
Name5 Points4 Points3 Points2 Points1 PointTotal
Mei5 (25)01 (3)0028
Sub-Zero1 (5)1 (4)2 (6)2 (4)120
Ashe1 (5)02 (6)1 (2)114
Fjorm02 (8)1 (3)2 (4)116
Ice Man02 (8)2 (6)1 (2)117
SkiFree1 (5)1 (4)00211
Penguin1 (5)2 (8)1 (3)82 (4)217

With that being said, Mei wings by a long shot with 5 total 5-points with 25 total. This is actually pretty cool considering how iconic Mei is but also potentially opens the door for future Overwatch content.

Now, here are the submissions for our future Festival! This will occur after our Mii Day Festival. Please know that it will added to our listing. Now, there is a poll running about what you think fans' reactions to festivals are. This is helpful as I try to steer our festivals. I do appreciate the feedback.

Here they are in quoted form:

June is a little late for Easter but we can include some of the elements (non religious of course) regardless like bunnies and eggs.

Will include:

2 Mii Costumes
4-6 Stage Variations
4 Poses
Smash HUD Aesthetic Change
1 Online Tournament
1 Spirit Event
5 Festival Colors
4 Festival Costumes
2 Airships
2 Speeders
3-7 Shaders

Medium Sized Festival

I never attended these types of jobs, so if I did something wrong tell me.

  • 2 Mii Costumes
  • 1 Stage Variation
  • 1 New Item
  • Spirit Event
  • Hub Change
  • 2 Airships
  • 2 Speeders
  • 3 Poses
  • 2 Costumes
  • 2 Colors
  • 1 Shader

Star Festival

The Star Festival is a short, small festival where players commemorate and celebrate the stars; both physically and figuratively. The entire Smash Hub is bathed in darkness as stars light up the night sky. Shooting stars are visible. There is not a day and night cycle like in the typical hub world.
  • 1 Mii Costume
  • 4 Stage Variations
  • Online Tournament
  • 1 Global Event
  • Hub Change
  • 2 Airships
  • 1 Speeders
  • 3 Shader
  • 6 Festival Colors (this is where more of the development time focuses on)
Festival Theme: Fantasy Festival

  • No Hub Change
  • New assist Trophy
  • 3 Airships
  • 2 Speeders
  • 4 Shaders
  • 6 Poses
  • 4 Costumes
  • 2 Colors

I was envisioning him as a little darker, but the smokier grey makes sense since he probably already has an alt based on Bomb.
...and in the listed form:

  • Festival of Bloom (Medium)
  • Festival of Adventure (Medium)
  • Festival of Fire (Small/Medium)
  • Star Festival (Small/Medium)
  • Fantasy Festival (Medium)
  • DIY Festival (Small)

We will are rounding out our holiday coverage with the following jobs...

Submit Items Only purchasable using Holiday Cookies

As ways to utilize this festival-only currency, we will be including festival-only items that are set apart from typical Mii Costume-related content. These are items that can be collected as they are counted as a new category called "Flair" as they count as a number of categories. This was something I wanted to create earlier for our previous festival but I hadn't thought it out fully yet so I wasn't sure the best way to implement it. That being said, "Falir" are items players can purchase using ONLY festival currency. They range from the following:

  • Item (an item relevant to the festival that the player holds)
  • Pal (a friend that perches themselves or above the Mii's right shoulder.)
  • Effect (gives an unique atmospheric effect around the Mii)
For example, I took the liberty to include 9 items for the Fall-festival to show you what I mean:
  1. Item
    1. Leaf Rake
      1. Mii holds a Leaf Rake
    2. Basket of Mushrooms
      1. Mii holds a basket of mushrooms.
    3. Fish on a Stick
      1. Mii holds a grilled fish on a stick
  2. Pal
    1. Mini-Pumpkin
      1. A small pumpkin perches on the Miis shoulder.
    2. Owl
      1. A tawny owl perches on the Miis shoulder
    3. Scarecrow
      1. A scarecrow perches on the Mii's shoulder
    4. Full Moon
      1. A miniature full moon hovers above the Mii's shoulder
  3. Effect
    1. Falling Leaves
      1. Mii has falling maple leaves around them as they move
    2. Flying Bats
      1. Mii has bats that fly around them as they move
Now, if this job doesn't do well, I may decide to change the idea but I wanted to give people a reason to use festival currency outside of buying typical things.

Submit Holiday-themed Tags

Fairly simply, submit a tag that players can stick onto surfaces throughout the hub. The tags should be small to medium in size and fairly simple.

Thank you everyone for your submissions! We will continue to submit content if you so desire. I don't think we will need to do voting on them as there were not a lot and, considering this is a large update, we can justify having several collectibles.

I want to keep us on the same timeline I intended but I actually have some time at the moment as I currently am not working due to an injury but I will be back next week. That being said, I would like to move us forward to actually the Mii Day Festival. We will do the Valentine's Day-inspired Festival of Roses concurrently to liven things up. I know this is not ideal but I literally have a lot of time on my hands between now and Sunday.

Here is the list of content we will include based on the timeline:

Festival of Roses
  • Smash Hub Aesthetic
    • How will the Smash Hub look like for the Festival of Roses?
  • Global Event
    • There will be a Global Event related to this. The previous one was giving gifts to other players. This one will be a bit more involved.
  • Festival Currency
    • What currency will there be to get items?
  • Festival Items
    • What can you buy with this currency?
  • Spirit Event
  • Mii Costume
    • One costume
  • Collectibles
    • Poses: 2
    • Speeders: 0
    • Airship: 1
    • Costumes: 2
    • Colors: 2

Mii Day Festival

  • Global Event (1)
  • Currency to go with the Event
  • Online Tournament (2)
  • Spirit Event (2)
  • Purchasable Content related to the Event (10)
  • Collectibles

    • Costumes: 3
    • Colors: 2

We will be conducting the following jobs....

Festival of Roses: Submit a Global Event and Currency

Previously, we included an event that allowed people to gift content to one another. We will be having more global events down the road and this global event will be similar in idea to the one we include in the Festival of Ice. In this festival, which is called Sma****ines Day, you can not only gift presents to people on your Friend's List but also invite them to an Online Battle. These Online Battles guarantee not only the 2x Festival Currency but also an Unommon to Master-class item for the winner. Players will send a "Sma****ines Letter" to their friend which has pre-selected messages to include.

We are submitting age-appropriate G-PG Valentines x Smash Bros puns to include in the messages.

In addition, you can also lump your currency submissions in with this job.

Now, for our Mii Day Festival content and this is one I am a bit afraid will take up a lot of messages so, I do want to stress to please, please please submit the above content....

Mii Day Festival: Major Update to Miis

We will be updating the Mii's and it will be entirely free and available upon updating your systems but...

We are including new Mii Classes

This is something we have toyed with since Infinite and it's finally happening. We currently have :ultbrawler::ultgunner::ultswordfighter: but we will be including New Mii Class(es). For right now, we will be having a discussion about what sort of Mii Classes could potentially work. We are NOT SUBMITTING. Just discussing.

Currently what we are discussing is....

The appropriate number of new Mii Classes
We previously leaned on 2 new classes last time we sat down to talk about this so I feel a good ballpark is between 1 and 3 at the most.

What Mii Classes would work?
Again, we don't only have to worry about moveset issues but also balancing issues between the other three Mii Classes PLUS adding a whole bunch of new costumes. That is why Mii Costumes are TBD...it will be for the Mii's we include. There will have 5 Mii outfits available at the start and tons of others that will be made available for purchase.

How does the new Mii Classes affect the older ones?
Keep in mind that depending on which classes we decide to include, it will obviously affect the other three classes in some way as these new classes may either take one of their moves and use it on their own causing us to have to add a new move to replace it. Or to recategorize a current costume that is in one Mii class.

I suppose we could go about it the easy way and just have that costume share two Mii Classes instead of just one. As for moves, I suppose we could also leave the old moves for the previous classes even though one move may fit the newer classes better and just create entirely new moves for our new Mii classes.

Sma****ines Message Content:
"Let me be your MAIN."
"You can 1 STOCK me anytime!"
"Personally I prefer the air..... with you."

Currency
Candy Hearts

As for the Mii Classes, I think 2 is perfectly fine but 1 seems to be more balancable. Mii Classes I could see work would be:

Mii Mage (we have been throwing this around for a while)
Mii Ninja (give them the Shuriken from Mii Swordfighter plus more stealth/indirect moves)
Mii Athlete (another one that has come up on occasion and makes sense. Shot Put from Mii Brawler would be added into here.)

Mii Classes:
I personally think we should have at least one more. Just to save resources for other places, you know?

As for the class, I'll bring up a few options I brought up from the Infinite board:
  • Mii Wizard: These guys would be projectile-focused, like the Gunner, but the projectiles are more technical and tricky to maneuver, much like with Palutena and Zelda, other witches on the roster.
  • Mii Titan: These would, of course, be the super-heavyweights of the Mii Fighters, being K. Rool-sized fighters who are all about plowing through hits and dishing out as much pain as they can take. Unlike with Mii Brawlers who seem more skilled and precise with their strikes, Mii Titans would be all about brute force and wild swings.
  • Mii Bandit: Mii Bandits are the speedy, more combo-oriented characters that would basically break from so much as a flick to the arm, similar to Greninja, Sheik, and Joker. Could follow the same design philosophy as Venus's Mii Ninja.

Mii Talk
Most of the major mii ideas I think have already been said but I have a few ideas that I want to throw into the ring

Mii Pilot: A Heavy Mech based fighter who would fight with moveset inspirations from Bowser Jr., Eggman and Octavio
Mii Monster: A Giant Superheavyweight class where the Mii attacks with giant Claws, taking moveset inspiration from Ridley, Bowser, DK, K. Rool etc.

I feel like if we are going to add a new mii class, Gameplay and visuals should be the biggest differentiator.

Mii Heavyweight

A larger, buffer Mii who will borrow melee attacks from other heavyweight fighters like donkey kong, ganondorf, Incineroar, etc.

I’ve never really liked the idea of a Mii heavyweight due to 1) them being more akin to the Brawler in fighting style and 2) while there would be differences in costumes, beyond that, there is nothing setting it apart from the Brawler.

we have a poll running about the number of new classes.

As we vote for the number of Mii classes we will be included in, we will begin...

Submitting a Mii Class

During the discussion, we talked about what sort of Mii classes we could see. Some of you suggested a Mii Heavyweight, a Mii Mage, and others. The number we decided to include Now is the time to submit the new class. When submitting, please provide the following regarding your Mii submission:

  • Mii Class Name
  • Associated Color (Red = :ultbrawler: Blue = :ultswordfighter: Yellow = :ultgunner:)
  • How would this Mii Class differ from the above classes? (This is important as we want to create classes that are distinct from the older 3)
  • Give 1 example of a Mii Costume that is currently in Smash that would be given to your Mii Class If applicable)

Mii Athlete

Color: Green
The Mii Athlete utilizes various sporting equipment in battle including tennis rackets, bowling ball, ribbons, and more. The reason this class would make sense is that the usage of Mii's was largely from the Wii Sports era for which they were known. In terms of which Mii Costumes could be carried over, I feel the Pauline outfit would work well for this one.

This was a toss-up between this one and the Mii Mage; both classes I 100% want to see be included.

Mii Kaiju
1700677825392.png

Above picture serves as reference, and may not be indicative of the final product.

Color: Orange

Waxing off super-heavyweights like Ganondorf, Bowser and King K. Rool, the Mii Kaiju is a Mii wearing a big bulky orange rubber Kaiju suit that you would normally see in some tokusatsu franchises as ZenKaiger, Ultraman and most importantly Godzilla. Its attack animations would be wild, brute-force swings as opposed to the normal, more focused attacks of a Mii Brawler, while having some "Special Effects" attacks like a fire breath or laser eyes. For reference to how it would look in Smash, reference Reptar from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

Super-heavyweights have been with the franchise since Day 1 with Donkey Kong, and while most don't end up getting that much good performance competitively they are without a doubt the most dopamine-inducing and casual-friendly archetype. Initially this was a Mii Titan, but a combination of many thinking a Mii Fighter with Hulk's physique would look out of place and the understandable concern about there being overlap with the Mii Brawler eventually got me thinking of how to make this stand out. The best solution I found was giving it a "suitmation"-style coat of paint to set itself apart.

For potential costumes for the Mii Kaiju, examples include Fury Bowser, Hyrule Warriors Ganon, Ifrit from Final Fantasy (More specifically his FFXVI incarnation), Tiny Tiger from Crash Bandicoot, Zorah Magdaros from Monster Hunter and an Armored Core from the titular FromSoftware franchise.
